Videocon, after having entered the mobile handsets market, is now all set to be a mobile operator. In fact, they have launched their services in Tamil Nadu yesterday and will be launching services in Punjab by April 10. They plan to launch services in 100 towns in the next 100 days. A total investment of 14 crore INR is being made, helping them reach their target of 10 million subscribers in the next three years.
The concept of “below 1 paisa tariff” is what the Videocon GSM service is banking on to expand its network of subscribers all across the nation which is evident in their effective catch line “Pakdo Life Ka Har Signal”. Videocon is planning an investment of Rs 1500 crore in Tamil Nadu and the company would leverage 3400 towers to deliver superior services to the subscribers, across 550 towns in the state within the coming week.
